Visiting the DMV After Purchasing Your New Vehicle

Once you've purchased a motor vehicle at our auction, you may need to visit a Rhode Island DMV location to complete registration or title transactions. All DMV services, including dealer and runner transactions, are processed by appointment only at the Cranston Headquarters (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.). The Middletown, Wakefield and Woonsocket branches also operate by reservation, but they do not handle dealer runner transactions. Alternatively, you can use the Westerly Drop Box at Town Hall to submit DMV forms, canceled plates and payments. Please note that processing through the drop box takes 7-14 days. For a smoother experience, it's a good idea to verify the specific requirements for your transaction before visiting, or you can visit AAA offices for basic DMV services.
